Google Payments for Video Content?

John Battelle posted on his blog he has confirmed Google will launch an in-browser video playback feature that will be integrated with Google Payments (http://battellemedia.com/archives/001658.php).

Based on this and his previous post (http://battellemedia.com/archives/001643.php), it sounds like Google's payment system may be more compelling than PayPal for purchasing low-cost digital content like music, video and articles.

It's easy to see what Google payments has that a company like Peppercoin (http://digbig.com/4dteg) doesn't: name recognition, existing relationships with most content providers, and the ability to search and deliver the content consumers are looking for.
