On Wednesday, eBay Storeowners began questioning why their listings were no longer appearing on Google's Froogle shopping engine. By Thursday evening, listings were back.

An eBay moderator posted on an eBay discussion forum that Google has difficulty handling eBay listings, "for whatever reason," and said the problem is worse this time of year. He said, "I don't think they are equipped very well do handle ecommerce-like content,...We are constantly working with them to try to get all the listings in, but there may be some delays and absences as things slip in and out of their index."

In a follow-up post, the eBay employee said eBay works closely with all of the search-engine services and talks to them on a regular basis. "Providing and accepting daily feeds that contain upwards of 40M eBay items (and that is just the US) and the associated data is a complex problem. We will continue to work closely with them to make sure eBay listings are present."
