eBay announced the winners of its eBay Developer Challenge 2006 on its blog. The eBay Developer Challenge 2006 invited individual developers and open-source teams to submit their most compelling applications in one of two categories: Best Original Application by an Individual and Best Open Source Collaboration by a Team.

The Grand prize winner was Unwired Buyer developed by Eric Smith (Developer gnumber2). First place winner was ctxbay by Aleksandar Stankovic (Developer astankovic79), and honorable mentions went to Gumshoo by Craig Villamor (Developer auctionfigure1), AuctionWatch GD by Ty Kroll (Developer tkrollwgg1), and Auction Monitor by Christopher Wong (Developer freestuff60).
