eBay's Feedback Changes Roll Out in Australia

Sellers on eBay Australia may be feeling like guinea pigs these days. The site is going PayPal-only next month - assuming the policy can get past regulators - and this month's feedback changes are hitting Australia today, the first country to be impacted by the radical changes to the rating system announced in January.
eBay is removing sellers' ability to leave anything but positive ratings for customers, and the changes are set to roll out in Australia on May 12. They will hit the UK site on May 15, and on other sites in the coming weeks.
While eBay says it is the only major ecommerce site on the Internet that allows shoppers to receive negative ratings and wants to make the site more buyer-friendly, it's also the only major ecommerce site that stays outside of the transaction, letting sellers collect payment and ship items. Sellers are concerned that eBay will be unable to prevent buyers from taking advantage of them under the new system, and the new feedback policy has led some sellers to boycott the site.
The coming weeks will tell whether sellers' fear of the new policy is justified, or whether eBay is correct in believing the policy will draw more buyers to the site.
The new policy is set to roll out on the US site on May 19.
